2010 Event - Festival

The Albany Classic is much more than a celebration of historic motorsport, it is a family fun day out and a great way to enjoy our fabulous City.

On Sunday 6 June in the CBD there will be a variety of entertainment to suit the family all at Alison Hartman Gardens in the heart of the city.

Entertainment will run from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm  with on-stage entertainmant all day including:

The Pixie Chicks - an internationally renowned all girl band that are a hit with the kids!
Mr Hardyhaha - a hilarious and interactive cross between a clown, an acrobat and a mime.
Uke-a-looney - a wonderful local trio featuring Kasia and Les Karski playing covers and original acoustic and rock music.

There'll also be face painting, bouncing castle, market stalls, food stalls, special interest exhibits, car displays and much more!

While the kids go crazy why not enjoy some of the local coffee or cafe fare...

See the Event and Circuit map in the program or grab a copy of the Albany and Great Southern Weekender newspaper in the week before the event to find car displays including street machines, vintage cars, speedway, go karts and even soapbox race cars.

Albany Screen Printers will have T-shirts and stubbie holders for sale for this and past years events so don't miss them on your way for a coffee, crepe, ice cream, burger or pizza! You'll also be able to chat to Shannons about insurance for your own classic car or get some shopping done from a variety of stalls supporting local lclubs, organisations or from crafty locals.

All of this and more will stretch from Alison Hartman Garden down York Street and into the St John's Uniting Church lawn. Along York Street you'll also find many local businesses will be opening up to to give you even greater choice.

 

Of course don't forget to take some time to enjoy the spectacle of classic and vintage cars. Have a wander through the pits and see just how much the motor car has evolved!
